1. The human touch will not be replaced by technology or Artificial Intelligence.
Whilst I am definitely a fan of automation for making the lives of small business owners easier, I still believe in the power of personal service.
We modern humans are surrounded by so much technology and ‘social’ media that we are left craving that human touch.
Don’t forget to include a bit of you in your business this year. Do you sell products? Why not try a handwritten thank you note with each purchase? Are you a service-based business? I send postcards to my clients to thank them for being a part of my business. Get creative and create a loyal fan base.
2. Reviews rule!
Did you know that customer reviews influence over 95% of customers online before they purchase?
Make sure that you have a system in place to help you ask for a review from every customer. Don’t be scared to ask. The worst answer can be no, and you move on.
I have an automated email sequence that sends an email to my clients 30 days after commencing to work with me. If I have a good relationship with the client, I just straight out ask them to leave a review.
If you do not have reviews on your Facebook page or website, you are losing out on customers. Don’t let that be you.
3. Put your employees first.
If you have a team of people who work with you, it is time to ensure that they are happy to be there.
As Richard Branson once said, “Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the client.”
Let’s all be like Branson and ensure that we are doing everything we can to ensure that our workers are happy. Happy employees will be more productive and create a positive vibe within your business which flows through to your customers. Plus, it’s not that hard to just be a nice human.
4. More people will work remotely.
There has been a steady increase in people seeking to work remotely and this will continue to increase in 2019. People are tired of commuting and with the rise of technology, the ability to work remotely has never been easier. Business leaders will need to reconsider how they currently communicate with their teams and how to create workplace cohesion with everyone in different places
5. Increased competition in Facebook advertising
More and more larger companies are choosing to use Facebook ads as part of their marketing strategy. This in turn will lead to increased competition in this arena. The cost of advertising is predicted to rise so it is essential that you set up and monitor your ads for maximum return on investment.
